Wide-Angle Adapters with 4 multi-axis rotating barn-doors have been available for dedolight fixtures for years. This model is specifically adapted to Prolycht full-spectrum open-faced COB: the Orion 675 FS and 300 FS lights. If you have used dedolights and their accessories before, you know that they are famous for homogenizing and controlling light beams with optics. This optical accessory has 3 missions: homogenizing the beam at 80º flood, widening the Orion 300 FS maximum flood from 50º to 80º, and cutting clean shapes with the rotating barn-doors.
The Wide-angle Adapter mounts snugly to Prolycht new enhanced ProLock bayonet-style Bowens locking mount on the Orion 675 FS. This ensures that the all-important center of dedolight optical accessories stays aligned with the COB. From a mechanical stand-point, this also ensures that the optics do not droop on the fixture.
The 675 FS has an 80º native beam. The Wide-angle Adapter lens maintains this wide flood, but homogenizes the beam and allows for much cleaner light cutting. In turn, the native beam of the Orion 300 FS is 50º. Dedo’s Wide-angle Adapter scales up its beam to 80º flood (matching that of the native 675 FS), while also generating a more homogenous beam with longer shadows.
Cutting the beam of multi-color LED fixtures with barn-doors is nightmarish, unless you like the rainbow that lines the edges. This Wide-angle Adapter greatly reduces color fringing when cutting the beam. If cutting with barn-doors is important to you, this optical accessory gives you a fighting chance at it .
Of course this Dedolight accessory could not have boring barn-doors. It features 4 multi-axis rotating barn-doors so that you can create any shape from any angle. This gives you the ability to make trapezoids, rhombus etc from any light and subject positions. An added advantage is to keep the space between the light and the subject clear of flags.
