Prolycht Orion 675 FS – Focusing range 33° – 6.9°, up to 99.000 lux at 2m, 5600º K in spot position
Prolycht Orion 300 FS – Focusing range 36° – 8.5°, up to 81.000 lux at 2m, 5600º K in spot position.
This Dedolight Zoom Lens for Orions heads fits both the 675 FS and 300 FS heads with different results.
While the standard Prolycht fresnel zoom for the 675 tightest spot is 15º (50º flood), this Dedolight Zoom lens (non-fresnel) achieves a super-spot twice narrower both on the Orion 675 FS (6.9º spot to 33º flood) and on the 300 FS (8.5º spot to 36º flood). The lens slides back and forth to achieve the variable beam angles. At its tightest spot, the most impressive setting, the 675 FS set at 5600k outputs 9197 fc at 2m (99,000 lux). With less than half the power draw, also at 5600k, the Orion 300 FS output is only 20% less than its big brother: 7525 fc (81,000 lux)! No typos there. This super-spot is best suited to work with reflectors such as Dedolight-brand Lightstream, or to produce a powerful, xenon-like, narrow beam to achieve a longer throw.
Recognized by several Technical Academy Awards, controlling light with lenses is what dedolight does best. Appreciative of the Orion’s color management, for the first time dedolight has designed and manufactured high performance optics for another brand: Prolycht’s Orion series with a Bowens Mount.
For the Orion 675 FS, Prolycht has improved the Bowens mount to a proprietary “ProLock” mechanism to be compatible with the high-end optics. This modified mount does not have any play so that the front-end accessories stay perfectly in place and do not droop nor wobble. It also ensures that the optical center of Dedo’s accessories remain precisely in line with the COB light source. The ZOOM, despite its size, is still compatible with the 300 FS standard Bowens S mount.
An optional honeycomb attachment is available, and recommended, to clean up any spill-light.
